Why chains behave alike
A hotel that belongs to a large group follows a brand standard: the same room layouts, the same keycard systems, the same guest policies and often the same training for night staff. That makes a chain property easy to read even on a first visit. What is true in one branch of a brand in Amsterdam is very likely true in the next. Chains in this city cluster in a few places: around Centraal Station, along the ring road, in the Zuidas, near the RAI and by the Arena. Many are large buildings with hundreds of rooms. Some brands sit in the old centre inside historic buildings, where the facade is local and the interior is standard.
